The Ford Bronco Sport Sees A Price Increase For 2022
While not increasing much, higher trims will see the biggest price increases.
For the 2022 model year, Cars Direct reports that Ford is increasing the price on every trim of the Bronco Sport, the surprisingly capable compact SUV that wears the nameplate of its popular big brother.
A leaked dealer order bulletin obtained by Cars Direct details the pricing. Including $1,495 destination charges, the base Bronco Sport will see the smallest price increase. It now starts at $28,760, an increase of only $50 over the 2021 model. The Bronco Sport Big Bend now starts at $30,320, an increase of $105 with the Outer Banks seeing a $215 increase to $34,570.
The biggest price increase is on the Badlands trim. A 2021 Bronco Sport Badlands starts at $33,360. For 2022, the price increases by $575 to $35,430. Confused? Don’t worry, the numbers aren’t adding up because there’s more to the Badlands’ increased pricing. The increase is actually more due to a price increase from Ford this summer.

It's Official. The Ford Bronco Everglades Is Coming In 2022
It will be the first Bronco available from the factory with a snorkel and winch.
Ford is going all in on off-roading with the Bronco. After being leaked through an online dealer ordering guide back in September, it’s been officially confirmed by Ford: The Bronco Everglades is coming in 2022.
Confirmed by Ford’s well-known product communications director Mike Levine on Twitter, the Everglades will be the second more hardcore off-road model Ford releases for the Bronco after the Bronco Raptor. While not much is known about the Everglades, the leaked dealer ordering guide confirmed the presence of a factory snorkel and winch, as well as exclusive interior and exterior colors. It also seems the model will be four-door only.
Likewise, the new Bronco Everglades – which carries a 922A order code – will apparently only be available as a four-door model and will reportedly come with a snorkel for deeper water fording. Multimatic and Ford Performance have revealed a bespoke Bronco geared for desert racing.
The Ford Bronco Desert Racer (DR), described by the Candian engineering firm as “the ultimate production desert racing vehicle,” is an adapted version of the Ford's newly reintroduced SUV equipped with upgraded equipment.
The model features long-travel suspension, positional selective dampers, tough spool-valve dampers and cooling optimisations to allow the model to take on several different off-road terrains.
“After working with Multimatic on such successful programs as the Ford GT road and race cars, the Ford GT MkII track car and every iteration of competition Mustangs, they're the natural partner for our new entry into off-road motorsports that builds on our desert racing heritage with the Ford Bronco,” said Ford Performance Motorsports director Mark Rushbrook.

For somewhere north of $200k, you can bag a V8-engined ‘Desert Racer’
It’s not a road car, but where this thing wants to go, you don’t need… roads. This is the new Ford Bronco DR: a purpose-built off-road racer that Ford describes as a “first-of-its-kind” limited production Baja 1000 desert race SUV.
That’s right, the DR stands for Desert Racer, and for, hmm, Some Monies, you too can own perhaps one of the coolest Broncos ever built. And they’ve built it good – Ford’s teamed up with long-time partner Multimatic (the two worked on the Ford GT road and race cars together) to create your ultimate off-road toy.
“It’s not just a Bronco with some stripes on it,” explains Bronco chief designer Paul Wraith. “We were inspired by extreme rally cars, and then went all in.” So, the DR keeps the Bronco’s frame and body structure, but gets a full Multimatic FEA-optimised roll cage with integrated tubes.
The body panels are made from fibreglass – yep, that favoured material of Nineties tuners – while the tubular front bumper is said to draw a connection with the road car. Not so the interior, which has been stripped back to the core. There’s no air-con, glass, nor any other “interior amenities”; the omission of the former might prove troublesome for a... desert racer.
What isn’t troublesome is the powertrain. There’s a 5.0-litre Ford Coyote V8 that “aims to generate” more than 400bhp, matched up to a 10-speed auto ‘box with a transfer case from the F-150. There are front and rear locking diffs, and special dampers with 80mm bodies, aluminium lower control arms, stronger front half-shafts, and a target of 55.1 per cent more front suspension travel and 58.6 per cent at the back. Basically, it’s a lot spongier.

Having garnered much excitement prior to its launch and sales having done superbly following, the Bronco I every bit of the success that we had all hoped it would be. Sure, it’s annoyingly not produced in right hand drive, but we live in hope…

Last month, the Ford Bronco Roush Series R kit was unveiled as a package that provided more of an edge to customers that wanted to extract the full potential of the 4×4. Now, the specialist tuning company has put together a demonstration video to show us just what its latest creation is capable of.
Roush’s R Series kit for the Ford Bronco promises trusted performance, capability, and dependability. Available exclusively in kit form, the Roush Bronco R Series allows both dealers and customers to install the package at the dealership or in their own driveway.
As an interesting side note, each package includes counterfeit-protective content and identification within the kit, this in order to guarantee each vehicle as a genuine Roush modification. All-terrain performance comes courtesy of new 17-inch wheels, designed for the extreme off-road use, featuring a unique colour treatment which extends the Roush Performance family appearance between F150 and Bronco. Five wheels are included in the kit.
Of course with a more aggressive appearance, the Roush Bronco needs to sound the part, too. A Roush Performance exhaust system does just that, consisting of a stainless steel Roush muffler and a removable black-coated tip, etched with the Roush R logo. As an added bonus, it also allows for an even greater departure angle when taking the Bronco off-road. The system pairs perfectly with both the 2,3-litre and 2,7-litre engine options.

Consumer products made from recycled ocean plastics already include everything from sunglasses and T-shirts to running shoes and yarn. Now, Ford is adding to its capabilities as an automotive leader in sustainability and is the first automaker to use 100 per cent recycled ocean plastics to produce automotive parts.
Wiring harness clips in new Ford Bronco Sport models are made of ocean-harvested plastic – commonly referred to as "ghost gear." The strength and durability of the nylon material equal that of previously used petroleum-based parts but with a 10 per cent cost saving and requiring less energy to produce. The small parts represent a significant first step in the Blue Oval's plans to build other parts of recycled ocean plastics on other models.
"This is another example of Ford leading the charge on sustainability," says Jim Buczkowski, vice president of research at Ford and Henry Ford technical fellow. "It is a strong example of circular economy, and while these clips are small, they are an important first step in our explorations to use recycled ocean plastics for additional parts in the future."
