Ford Figo

Can you really compare mini's against super mini's? i.e. Vivo / Figo against an i10 / Picanto.
 
Because the minis in that comparison are old-gen they sell for about the same money as new-gen super minis - this is where the comparison comes in.
 
Figos are going for R110k around where I live.

Anyways, I'm pretty happy with mine I've test drove the i10, Vivo, Aveo and Rio 1.4. opted for the Figo for price/size. I am a tall tall man :o

What was wrong with the Rio 1.4?

I'm looking at getting one within the next few months. Haven't gone for a test drive yet.

Purely more expensive (R150 000 IIRC)

The Rio 1.4 is a direct competitor the the Chev Sonic (Same price range, however I think the Rio has more kit)
 
I was forced to retire my 1999 Opel Astra 200i after 14 years and 521 000km. Fuel consumption rised to about 12l/100km and I mainly drive 30km a day to work and back.
I did research for a while looking at the Hyundai I10, Kia Picanto and 1200 Chev Spark. I was drawn towards the Chev and the Hyundai. Eventually I took the step and went to Action Ford in Krugersdorp ( I stay in Centurion) to look at a used I10. I ended up buying a Figo demo model with 7 000km on the clock. The service from these guys were fantastic and I can recommend them any day.
I love the car. After my first fill-up fuel consumption was at 7.7l/100km. Not quite what I expected but a tad better than what I got from the Opel lately. The 20 000km service intervals are an added bonus.

Likes:
- central locking
- remote boot opener
- headlight on warning
- good lighting from the headlights
- excellent brakes (almost too sharp)
- sturdy ride with good cornering ability
- good aircon that cools quickly

Dislikes:
- slightly underpowered
 
Apparently the standard radio has usb. The cable just isn't fitted. You can buy the cable from Ford or take a normal usb extension and cut the male head off and crimp some terminals onto the 4 wires and plug it into the back of the radio and lead the female head into the glove box.

I haven't done any further investigation though.

Is this only with the facelift models or the old ones aswell?
 
Man, the old Figo sure is popular is Pretoria. Got to a quiet 3 way stop and all the cars arriving from each direction were Figos, my white one, a blue one and a maroon one.
