Ford Figo

Maybe they thought it was the airconditioner knob? I made a similar mistake with a rental car (can't remember what it was). I thought I had tunred on the aircon, but it was the fog light knob.

No ways will you confuse this with a aircon switch:

You have to turn it all the way so the lights are on. Then pull it to swtich on the fog lights.

Note the picture is of the Figo Trend, so you can adjust the beam height and then if you pull the switch one click, just the front fogs come on, and if you pull it all the way front and rear fogs will be one.

In the Figo Ambiente* if you bull back the switch, the rear fogs come on, no front fogs.

*Ambiente doesn't have colour coded mirrors or door handles and also no keyhole next to the rear numberplate, so easy to spot from a distance

So you have the old one or the facelift?

Especially on the old one it is unsafe, cars behind are unable to see when you are braking as easily because of the close proximity of the lights.
I have the old one... I meant I will try them out to see them, not gonna use them in traffic.
I definitely don't have front ones though.

Cool beans, I sometimes use them in conjunction with the reverse lights when reversing in an unlit area, because the tint on the windows is so dark.

Speaking about Figos, the only thing I would change is... cupholder!!! It's such a bad design and spot and that silly door holder design on no use, it's full of torch and pepperspray and traffic wand.

Wife has one. They are briliant little cars. I love the DTE reading :o Know exactly how far you can drive with the feul left in it. And they pretty light on fuel. Service is cheap, appart from the damn in-line fuel filter

Whats your DTE just after filling to autostop as fuel stations? Mine is on average 619km after filling up at BP. I get to ~520km before the 80km left noise occurs (noise occurs at 40km and 20km left too).

I'll have to check she filled it this morning I got the SMS. Most I've seen it is around 520? give or take a few. However we just fill it up till the pump clicks, never over fill it.

btw it's the 1.4 Duratec

Which one you got?

YES! The cupholder is useless.

1.4 petrol. Also fill to first click (aka autostop). If I drove to empty I'd probably get 580 to 600km.

Standard practice with Durban drivers of small cars - Figo, i10, CheryQQ, Punto - all of them drive with their goddam rear fogs on and it p i s s e s me off big time!

You have to try and guess when they are braking by seeing what the cars in front of them are doing - bloody idiots!

I have a figo for a year now and I did not know the car had rear fog lights. Thanks, will test tonight while driving

Lots of luxury cars with theirs on, especially 3 Series... I don't understand it. Switch your lights to Auto, and forget about them. Yet they feel the need to physically switch on those damn fogs, every time the get in.

Spoke to the wife she says if She fills up the DTE only goes to just over 500KM's. What model do you have and how many litres is your tank? I'm concerned now... Maybe her DTE isn't callibrated correctly.

The DTE is calculated by the way you are currently driving and what your current consumption is - maybe your wife is a little heavy of foot? :p

Might be, however it's the moment she filled up. Not even driving yet. Could it be the driving history? Or is the vehicle slightly heavy on feul and maybe needs a "check-up"?

The 1.4 Petrol which has a 45L tank according to the book. Normally fill with 38 to 39L when near the 80km left mark. I do reset my trip odo when filling up, so I can see if my DTE is remotely accurate .

Now its on 455km and my DTE says 123km left. That gives me about 580km, which is the average, despite my DTE saying 619 (average) just after fill up. Its the acceleration at traffic lights and crawling in traffic that influences that discrepancy. If I could drive a continuous 90km/h in 5th gear on a flat road with no stopping and starting, I'm sure I could hit that 619.
