Ford Figo

Might be, however it's the moment she filled up. Not even driving yet. Could it be the driving history? Or is the vehicle slightly heavy on feul and maybe needs a "check-up"?

Yes - it picks up on driving history then recalculates in real time.

DTE is a real thumbsuck really, and it's best not to rely on it - I used my XV for the first time in 3 weeks yesterday - it's been used as a Pool car whilst I was driving the WRX - anyway - when I left here it said that I had 110 km to go to empty - I was in a rush so went home without filling up ( 50 km) and when I got home it said that I had 120 km to go!! :p

It had been calculating on town running, but as soon as the freeway was factored in it all changed.

They Figos system doesn't seem that fancy. It will never add kilos unless there is more petrol put in. I don't think it remembers much.

Didn't know that. Thanks Fazda. Appreciate the feedback guys.

I have a Fiesta, never use rear fogs, but I do use the front fogs (pothole lights)

And your headlights don't accomplish the same thing? Don't quite see the logic there. Fogs shine directly in front of your car - pretty much where your bonnet ends. Their only mission is to show you where the lines for your lane are when there is fog. When they reveal potholes, it's too late!

Its the manufacturers fault, take it up with them that no rear lights come one when the DRLs come on.

+1 to that. My car has DRL's, and when I use them the back lights are on as well. Going back to what the guy you quoted said though, I find cars with fogs on or no lights on at all more annoying than cars with DRL's and no backlights. Although I haven't noticed any cars with DRL's on and back lights off. Then again, I'm not the most observant of people :P

Standard practice with Durban drivers of small cars - Figo, i10, CheryQQ, Punto - all of them drive with their goddam rear fogs on and it p i s s e s me off big time!

You have to try and guess when they are braking by seeing what the cars in front of them are doing - bloody idiots!

I agree with you there. For the most part. A lot of Audi's and BMW's drive around here with their fogs on. Newer BMW's, Cherry QQ's and Figo's seem to have the most potent rear fogs I've ever seen.

I tolerate front fogs more, as you only see them when you're in front of them. But you can flip up your rear mirror so they don't shine in your eyes.

Rear fogs though -_- Those things give me headaches.

Traffic dept. in the Durban area seems to really be slacking. Too many people are driving around with fogs when there is no fog (it's actually illegal, but no one seems to care).

Even more people drive around with no lights at all. Sometimes you're lucky and the headlight on the one side is working, with the fog on the other side working. Other times, you just get lights on the one side working, so you have to play the "is it a car or bike" game.

Things like that frustrate me to no end and it seems to get worse each week. But there is nothing I can do about it. I'm fighting back by planning on NOT paying for any fines I may get in the future.

After all that, I use my front fogs exclusively when driving behind people with rear fogs on.

Lots of luxury cars with theirs on, especially 3 Series... I don't understand it. Switch your lights to Auto, and forget about them. Yet they feel the need to physically switch on those damn fogs, every time the get in.

Auto never switches the fog lights on though. Not that I know of at least.

I'll say this. My Audi has the auto headlights and DRL, both in front and rear, which some could see as fogs I think. Turning on the rear fogs basically triples the brightness of these rear running lights so I never do it. I can actually use the rear fogs as a light source in pitch blackness!

Here's my Figo lights.

When the rear fogs are on that orange indication light is bright enough to be very irritating. I never use it except in serious fog.

I seem to have messed that up with Tapatalk, but the 3 pics seem to be there

Figo 1.4...390km on 38litre average

DTE shows 520 on fill up. Can get all of 440km on 37litres when all highway driving (this is my wife driving 120km a day from Sandton to Centurion twice for school run last year. And she has always gotten 1 litre better than me on any car we've had.)
But now that I am driving inside Sandton on the work run, my best has been 390km on 37litres. Took it to ford 3 times now that the engine is 'run in'. Yes I did notice the engine loosen up after 14000km. But google says this is a common problem. If I had been driving the car since new, I would have sent it back.

BTW, it's easy to hammer the light switch onto rear fogs. Try putting the Figo in reverse gear and you need to use the jaws of life. Took it back for this issue too after I heard other Figo's grinding the reverse lights on.
Ford updated software, apparently, and putting in reverse was a one handed approach (usually need protein shake in other hand).
But today I am back to 390km per tank and taking car to Ford on Wednesday.

I know. That is the point.

Yeah. I had a 2008 Fiesta ST. When on auto lights you cannot even pull out the light switch to turn on the fogs. You have to turn back to manual lights then pull out for fogs.

Although, the way that switch works I'm sure unobservant people in the other Fiesta/Figo's without auto lights could easily pull out the switch without realizing and then turn the normal lights on and off while permanently having the fogs on. They should really have a separate switch for the fogs.

That's normal mileage per tank, when driving a little enthusiastically. I get between 380 and 440km per 38L fill up and I don't really care for driving economically, but at the same time I don't drive boy racer style.

The rear fogs are hard to put on accidentally. One click is front and 2 clicks is front & rear. There are separate dash lights for both. Green for front and bright orange for rear.
