Ford Online Portal/Sync Update

Ok just tried, in the car the system just say no file found or something like that

You should see like two text files and a folder. If you open one of those text files with notepad you will see the version. Anyway I think I’ll still try the update. Will do it later tonight
 
I'm picking up my 2017 1.0l Ecoboost Focus Ambiente later this week.
It didn't have Sync 3 loaded iirc.
Can this model of car run Sync 3?

Checking that Irish link from earlier in this thread, it shows that there is an update available for my car.

Still have to check version on the car in comparison.
 
So after trying the update and not succeeding i had all sorts of issues. Reset didnt help. Had to disconnect the battery to force back to defaults. Back to normal now

It only would have Sync 3 if the car was opted in for Techno pack (or something or other). That is an 8" Infotainment system that includes CarPlay & Android Auto.

The stock system has a basic 4.2" monochrome screen running Sync 1.

Aha, thanks man.
It does have the monochrome screen, so no cool toys for me then it seems
 
I got the install to work guys. I found another install file on another ford forum. It’s for Ford sync1 v5.8 to update to 5.9. I’m not sure what’s changed though. Only time will tell
