If the symptoms indicate a possible enlarged prostate, a blood test will not be sufficient. And once diagnosed with it, prepare for regular fingering checkups.

Symptoms like urinating issues and blood in your semen.

I believe over a certain age the PSA by itself is not considered sufficient, and a digital examination is recommended regardless.
 
I have an issue with farting lately! Instead of the impressive cheek smacking report that used to issue forth, now all I can manage is a nearly inaudible oh so gentle puff! Doesn’t matter how hard I push the result is the same!!

Maybe you fine gents could point me in the direction of a worthy medical practioner?

Don't push too much and too hard, you could end up with a hernia (and heartburn).

Get your blood sugar tested while you are visiting the GP. It could be an indication of diabetes.

They can do a prostate check with a sonar scan, recently had one done. I was dreading the finger :P

I'll remember this post. I'm turning 40 in 4 years and no way is a finger going up my butt. Then I'll rather take my chance with prostate cancer.
