eek Crytek engine for a MMO .

But there is going to be a lot whining because people wont be able to play it properly cause of the system requirements.

Look whats happening at Age of Conan, people are complaining about those system requirements. So anybody coming from WOW and are use to playing a mmo on a cell phone (oops i mean older pc), there are going to be tears.

Another MMO, named Entropia Universe, is in the process of switching over to the Crytek2 engine. A number of graphical upgrades have already been released with a full overhaul planned some time this year if I'm not mistaken.

I used to play it religiously, but unfortunately one has to deposit money (and alot of it) if one wishes to get very far in-game.

personally, i probably wont partake in this exercise of MMO revolution, but if WoW were to upgrade their engine to even the PREVIOUS cryengine, then i would go back just to relive that whole universe in more detail. if you want to whinge/wine/whine/moan about a game not catering for your crappy PC, direct it at your nearest brick wall.

this sounds interesting though because I expect some major optimizations to be implemented, as well as a tweaked engine (since Crysis was so "fast"). i want to see how it handles, oh i dunno, 50+ people in a dungeon or 50+ people ganking the living crap out of each other in close quarters

Actually, I doubt developers would take public comment so lightly. If WoW were to suddenly upgrade to the Crytek 2 engine, there would be mass complaints, as a very large portion of its subscriber base most likely wouldn't have PCs powerful enough to run it. Blizzard would certainly not just ignore customers, as that would be like kissing a large portion of their subscriber base goodbye. Example 1 on how to ruin your own game.
