Former Eskom managers arrested for corruption

South Africa’s police arrested two senior ex-managers at the state electricity company and a number of other suspects over allegations of fraud, corruption and money laundering at the Kusile power plant.

The detention of the Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd. officials are the first by judicial authorities carrying out President Cyril Ramaphosa’s pledge to end corruption that’s stalled growth in Africa’s biggest economy.

Former Eskom head honchos Abram Masango and France Hlakudi have been arrested on charges of fraud, corruption and other alleged offences. The charges partly stem from alleged kickbacks of more than R30-million that Tubular Construction CEO Tony Trindade and the company’s former chairperson, Mike Lomas, funneled to Masango and Hlakudi. This was in relation to a R1.2-billion contract the construction company had clinched for work at Eskom’s problem-ridden Kusile power station project. Trindade and Lomas will also be charged over the matter. This is NPA’s first major strike at allegedly corrupt senior Eskom officials and their private sector enablers.

R30mil, so they are the small fry.

Let me know when the politically connected guys who received Billions in bribe get arrested

This. Some small fry people and managers because they are the ones that sign the cheques. But no political figure yet over corruption because they always keep their hands clean.

Nail the small fry hard enough and they will implicate their masters.
 
Too little too late. They're ex-Eskom managers. How about focusing on the current management, especially the one who said that if they don't get their bonuses they'll bring back load shedding

Complain that people are getting away with corruption, when they are arrested we moan too little too late and move goalposts?

Would you apply this "ex principle" on ex President Zuma and the ex ministers who stole from us? Focus on the ones currently in government and let Zuma and his gang of thieves off the hook? Looks like a swaak excuse for not wanting to give credit where it's due.

Then too little too late is not the expression you use when you are trying to get such a point across. The fact that they have already left is neither here nor there, arrest them while they are still there or after they are gone, same difference.
