Formulas for wifi community:rolleyes:

http://www.radiolabs.com/stations/wifi_calc.html
Calculating your 802.11 power output.
Free Space Loss
Fresnel Zones
System Performance
milliWatts to dBm (and vice versa)

Free Space Loss Calculator

dBm to Watt Conversion Table

http://www.seattlewireless.net/HardwareComparison
Hardware Comparison

For those bro’s who are kukking in their pants about my 25 watt wifi amp check this out man:

dBm = 10 * (log (1000 * P))
P = Power in Watts
1000mW = 1 Watt

My access point is 250mW

dBm 24 = 250 mW
and my dish is 27dB and AP is 24dBi = 51dB
51dB = 125892.54mW = 125.89254 Watts in a 9 deg beam
Check Out Formula

You JUST DONT get the point!

You OBVIOUSLY dont have a clue what you are doing. Go back to your web pages and look up some other keywords you don't understand. You have no experience with Wireless, you have no idea on the calculations, you have no idea on Antennas types that are available - or even how electronmagnetics work -

America has different WIFI laws to South Africa as SA follows european standards.

do some of your own maths - your Omni on a 20 watt booster will radiate 80 Watts effective. in a 360 Degree pattern! (not 8 degrees as per your example)

DSTV satellites (PAS 7) - THE ENTIRE THING runs on 110Watt, a typical stream transponder is 10Watts! Wifi enthusiasts have got 200KM+ links running on STANDARD HARDWARE - aka ... NO AMPLIFIERS!

Please spare me the lecture and your clear mis-understanding of RF and related electro magnetics.

Master Ricard, what’s your point?

I know I can use a moerse 40db dish and sent signals from earth to Venus with a standard AP @ 100mW

I think you need to R e – r e a d my scenario again, I think you might not understand something so well

Thx for the DSTV satellites (PAS 7) specs where did you get that, I need to see it for my self man
