Found Black berry

Note to self:

Put a sticker on inside cover of the GFs phone with my number, and a sticker in my phone with hers.

That way, if a phone is lost, the person that finds it can get hold of someone to return it to. Should they want to :erm:

dude... take it to vodashop or mtn service center... then ask them to check the IMEI number and contact the owner... do the right thing... BB's are very secure.. you will not be able to get in...

I'd say call the service provider and give them the PIN and IMEI number. They might be able to get hold of the owner. There's no way you can keep something which doesn't belong to you. If you had left your phone somewhere and someone found it I'm sure you'd want them to return it to you.

+1 thats what I would do...

at the very least - at least make an attempt to find the owner. if you can't find the owner then it's yours - if you can then it was never meant to be. karma can be a biaatch.

Dude i have no interest in black berry , I am a Nokia fan and own 3 Nokia's so i think i am well off. I think i should sell it to the heights bidder, i guess the owner not keen in getting his phone back

Wether you sell it, keep it or give it to your dog to chew on its still wrong. And it doesn't matter howmany Nokias you have or how well off you are

True but i am not that careless my friend

And what gives you the power to punish the careless?

I am not a careless person either but that wouldn't stop me from returning the property of a careless person.

so here an analogy..not quite the same as your dilemma but has reference to karma..
was as per usual waiting for a parking bay outside the checkers entrance @gateway.
waited for over 10 minutes - and eventually someone was about to exit.
well this other lady drives in and claims she asked the guy if he was leaving & him to his car.
i argued but it was useless and she had a bigger vocabulary of expletives than I did - so I backed off.
While she was still locking up a little kid was recklessly running with a trolley and crashed into the back of her car..
Look on her face - priceless...........

i would have been rolling around the parking lot laughing!

Dude Its not stolen if that's what you implying,The phone is off by the way i don't have a black berry charger.

In my opinion (and religion) taking anything which does not belong to you, be it out of someones pocket or due to someones carelesness, is THEFT. Unless you pick it up with the intention of finding the owner. If you think you will not find the owner leave it as is. Once you pick it up it is your responsibilty to track down the owner and return it.

So if you pick-pocket someone or pick up something in a public toilet (with the intention of not returning it) it makes you a common criminal.

I would be seriously screwed if I lose my BB... doing a backup now:D

I would try to return it, its the honest thing to do after all.

Edit: What a crappy place to leave your phone

Agreed son! Do the right thing
+1 I found a new iPhone before in a communal toilet in an office building.... i handed it into the nearest office to the toilet. I found out that the owner came looking the next day and picked it up..... don't be like most people these days who would keep it....

Dude this threads in the wrong forum - shouldn't be under Blackberry.
It's a matter of morality......

Cant you just change the SIM card and then look at the contacts etc in it?

Dude, give it back to the owner, it's the right thing to do.

Just go to any voda/mtn store and they will most probably be able to trace the owner.

If you too lazy to do that, just put your sim in and call one of the contacts. One of your mates must definitely have a BB charger you can borrow.

Question : If you have 3 nokias and are so well off, why do you even need to sell it to the highest bidder?

The problem with SA is that everyone has a feeling of entitlement, from the criminal who feels that he's entitled to steal someone elses property, this has now seeped down into the average citizen who feels he's entitled to keep anything he finds even though it may not belong to him.
