One of the things they said that could get the ball rolling is israel tearing the mosque down which they would never do because the islamic world would go kill israel crazy over night. What i never got to see though:

There were 2, first one was destroyed by the Babylonians, it was rebuilt and then destroyed by the Romans

The Jewish temple was destroyed twice; the most recent one was sacked under Emperor Hadrian's rule when the Jews tried to rebel against Roman occupation around 2000 years ago. If I'm not mistaken a Christian temple was built on top first under the rein of Justinian (I think?) and then that was destroyed and the mosque built in its place. Contrary to popular perception Muhammad never went to that mosque; he died many years before Muslims conquered Jerusalem. The passage in the Qur’an says: “Glory to (Him) Who took His servant for a journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Furthest Mosque…” In his lifetime that most likely refers to Mecca and Medina.

Muhammed Did go to Jerusalem... it was on the night of miraaj where we got the gift of salaah..
Muhammed described the exact place perfectly and it was accepted by many non muslims as the exact description proving he did go their.So your interpretation of the ayat is not valid since Jerusalems mosque is older.

About Jerusalem. Yes Muslims didnt rule it in the prophets lifetime.It was Umar (RA) who was the conquerer of Jerusalem. Anyway Arabs founded that City around 2000 BC so Historicly its ours.
