So once or twice now in the last couple of months I've gotten an SMS from the bank for some itunes purchases. I thought meh, must be some software I've got a subscription for that I forgot about, "I'll check it when I have a chance"

Monday morning I get another SMS, R999.99 for Apple... January is 4 months long, can't afford to lose a grand on some random subscription I don't even know.

I checked my subsriptions on apple, and surprise surprise - there's no purchases on my apple id.

So I called Apple now and they can confirm that my credit card has been used on 2 other apple id's. Total purchases of around R2k over the last month or two.

I have no other random purchases on my card, just apple purchases. So either whoever got my card details has just been using it on apple, or somehow this is an apple specific fraud.

Card has been blocked by Apple, and getting a refund. Now I need to go to the bank to block my card, but since internet banking is stupidly linked to your card - if you block your card you lose access to internet banking. So I'll maybe go in to the bank to get a card replacement and keep a close eye on my account until then.

What a pain

Happened to me, it was Amazon who debited my acc with R1645 (£79.90) for some fragrance sent to an address in Dorset in England. Took over 5 months to get a refund, but received R120 more due to exchange rate changes

Capitec stopped the card

By the time I got to the bank, a new card had been prepared

It cost R120 for the new card

Very same happen to my daughter. She did buy things online and then some one start buying .
