FREE Anti-virus software suggestions

You get what you pay for. So how come you can't shell out R29/month for a paid for, unobtrusive, lightweight antivirus?

You came in here asking for advice on an Antivirus.

The best antivirus is simply the "Don't be a Retard" one. If you apply that you don't need much else.

Agreed that The Human Firewall is the most underrated AV. Likewise with Windows Defender -- there are quite a few tests that rate it quite highly. MS EMET tool is a must if not using Windows 10. CryptoPrevent is also pretty essential. Lastly, Sophos also has a free AV that is not too bad, and it integrates with Sophos UTM (also free for home use).

Actually I don't think anyone has ever gotten what they've paid for with Antivirus.

It's completely unnecessary.

Found that ClamWin the only thing that doesn't annoy me to no end. Only there to right-click and scan newly downloaded files, and do a full PC and process scan once in a while.

bah humbug mcafee. Tell them its fine if they give you a super computer capable of running mcafee ;P
Ie. i always found it to be a resource hog.

I'm quite loving comodo lately, light on resources, doesn't bug you. Only issue i've had is it can be somewhat strict at times.
