Hello Everyone,

You are welcome to give our Central Controller a spin.

Yes,

You can create a mesh network where they are all members of the same mesh.
Since these are dual radio devices you will typically use the 5G radio for the mesh connections (and optionally run it also as an AP) and the 2.4G radio as an 'access layer'

If you have other vendor's hardware lying around they can also join in. (As long as they can be flashed with OpenWrt)
There are detailed instructions on how to create the firmware for different hardware models.

Models from hardware vendors that is available in South Africa we flashed with OpenWRT and meshed in the past include
  • Ubiquiti
  • Meraki
  • Aruba
  • TP-Link
  • Xiaomi
Also the gateway node of the mesh is not required to be via an Ethernet cable. (Although that gives the best performance)
There are also options to get the Internet connection as a WiFi client, and then do mesh to expand the coverage.
 
@dvdwalt Thanks for your reply will bring home the other router this week and create it with the first 2x 4a xiaomi I have.

Right now have 2 access points with different SSID in two different parts of the house , Connected on the same lan.
