Free DVD burning software and Disc imaging software?

Hi all, im struggling to find a decent free program for Mac that can burn data to discs like Nero or CDBurnerXP and make ISO files from a disc like daemon tools (doesnt have to be one program).


Most software i have tried has horrible GUI, also if there is a very decent paid one ill be happy to buy it.

Any suggestions?




Another question, why are programs made for windows have such a sh*t Mac version, example, Avast for Mac. Completely different on the Mac and more complicated for some reason.


Also VLC differs to the windows version.
 
IIRC yes, mostly, if you change the file extension. There were some issues with bootable images I seem to think. I no longer have a real Mac but have buggered around with virtual ones. Try and see.
 
Paid = Toast
Free = LiquidCD - but it requires some changes to your security prefs with it being old and therefore not signed.

Disk utility does it too. Mostly, nobody really bothers in this world anymore since CDs have gone the way of VHS.
