Anyone know if there is a public proxy that we can use for anonymous browsing. Nothing suspicious but I have noticed that www.mtnsms.com works elsewhere (I verified this today) but when I get home, it sends me to some paysite. Its something like the Mweb-only thing. So now I need a way to perhaps proxy into at least that one site with a public IP address and not my 66.18.*.* or 168.* address. I'm pretty damn sure the site is seperating users by source address. Can I use an american proxy?

Can someone try this from a 196.* address? Perhaps its only 66.* and as such they only want "local" address ranges.

I just clicked on www.mtnsms.com and it gave me the choice to go to smspop.com or mtnsms.com. I then selected mtnsms.com, logged in and sent an sms which I received. Our IP (on leased line) starts with 172.16.****
Maybe its that, dunno.

It is when MWEB decided to pull of the home page users to certain networks about 2 years ago, diffrent ISP allow certain tarffic to access there sites by IP, based on dial up bank, etc

I said.. FREE proxy not .biz

I tried a number of public proxies but they must be tracking my actual IP address somehow. Anybody know of a way around this? Or a proxy that actually gets to www.mtnsms.com and NOT smsBug.

appologies but for a life of me I cant find FREE in ur original posting ?
Have gone blind?

Sorry. I guess it was implied. I just need a way to send free websms to mtn like I do for cellc and vodacom. I dont have a mtn number so I need another way. I'm paying my R20 a day so I may as well as it for sms as well. Does ICQ still send sms's?

Is it faster to set your browser to netcache06.infosat.net, rather than use the transparent meganism ? No DNS lookups and Keep-Alive means less SYNCH_REQUESTs.

It doesn't change the HTTP_FORWARDED_FOR ip though ...

How about setting up your own proxy to work with netcache06.infosat.net. Then the machine behind your firewall can have any IP you like... Is that then forwarded ?

I will definitely look into it nic. What port does that proxy use? But I should be able to figure it out.

I doubt that the proxy will forward any old IP. Will have to try it.

Or maybe it was in the message topic title?

<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">

Yep, 66.18.x.x IP here.
So your DNS does resolve to the correct IP?

Maybe you have one of those Browser Hijackers on your PC. Tried anything that's not IE (Opera/Mozilla/Firefox) ?

Definitely zero viruses/spyware/adware/hijackers. Im careful about this and keep my PC up to date.

In firefox it still redirects to www.smsbug.com - I cant believe that you can get in.. maybe its in the cookies but I cleaned my cookies out recently..

anyone else tried www.mtnsms.com from a mywi modem?

maybe can you supply the 3rd octet of your IP address as well.. mine is 66.18.81.*
