Free reg cleaner.

Another thing it helped with (not related to registry) is that the cleaner part found around a gig of files that could be deleted, no not just in the temp folder or recycle bin, quite handy when you're using a 32 gig partition.
 
Thanks. Abexo works well. RegCleaner is cr@p. I had to use "system restore".

Will try CCleaner as well.

Yes, CCleaners function of saving space is worthwhile, but there really is no point in cleaning the registry. I periodically use CCleaner to free some space, and while I'm there I generally do the registry clean as well, but I wouldn't go out of my way to clean the registry. It serves no real purpose.

Occasionaly I get "confused" shorcuts (not often thankfully), CCleaner fixes those.
