No please stay away from Ccleaner.
My pc is still !@#$ after running it
A repair and a reinstall of sp2 did not help me.

Funny, I've never experienced that ..but I don't recall involving it in a repair/reinstall of sp2 either.

I used to use a program called RegCleaner (though I've seen it as RegCleanr as well) a long, long time ago, seemed to get the job done

i use ccleaner... no problems with it. It gives you option to back up your registry anyhow.

Yea using a reg cleaner often ends up worse, also they all say there are so many problems. I dunno i rate its a bunch of crap that only harm your pc.

Yeah backed up my registry but even after restoring it still the problem persists.

ccleaner - I use it mostly for removing logs, tmp files, cache etc etc.
