FREE SMS via Internet - Beta

Ya I also used yosms, what I particularly liked about it was that whenever u sent an sms, its as if u sent it direct from yo cell - just like the Voda sms's though there are ads at the end. Pity cause the company never raised enuf revenue from those awkward ads to sustain itself. I wonder how is this company gona sustain itself. If its thru ads pls put on better ads.

It works very well. Thanks. :)

Note:

- "Remember my ID on this computer" does not work.
- The Password field is just a normal text input, so it doesn't hide your password when you enter it.

I know it's still Beta, but just letting you know.

Thank you for the feedback.

I will have the developer sort that out asap!

I like the service, but what I will like, is if we could send one long sms, not just one short one. What I would also liked is if my name, and not my cell number can appear at the bottom. Thanks anyway.

Yep,works fine :) but like most said, would like it to say it came from my number coz i know you get the silly people that you send a sms to and then they'll just hit reply without thinking...

You can send 10 free sms messages to any cellphone network in South Africa, daily.

MrBEEP:

Another thing I have noticed is that on the first day I signed up, I sent a few sms's, but not all 10. Today I logged in again and I only had the remaining (4) sms's available.

Surely that should be reset to 10 each day? :)

Thanks.

I sent a few messages last night, but this morning one has not got his message. Thats what I dont like about this type of messages.

Yeah, you can't really be certain it sent or not. :(

Morning .geek

The sms count resets daily, just not at midnight :)

Should be done by 10:00am each morning.

Is the service usefull?

Thanks. Yes, very useful. :)

I currently use MTN's Free SMS service, but they only give you 5 SMS's to MTN numbers only. :(

I used Opera Mini on my phone to send a few sms's and it works perfectly. Only used 15kb of data to send 1sms, which costs 3c. I think this service is useful, but for how long will it remain free? Surely the developers need income to maintain the service.

Cool site!

Just one thing, you should also have a confirm password on the registration page...

Cheerz

If in doubt about personal info (PW etc) being logged change it regularly. The funny thing is most people blindly trust service providers and banks etc. with their personal info - yet I'm convinced they misuse it.

I registered and works great!

Please add a place where we can see whether a message was delivered.

The site says it's an ad-supported service. There's no ads on the site or on the sms sent. So I suppose the cell numbers of registered users are given to advertisers to support the site. If this is the case, is there any way to "unsubscribe" from the service if someone so wishes?

I don't think thats the case. The service is still in Beta. They'll probably introduce the Ad's at a later stage. They'll most likely have a short text ad in the sms.

A Database of email addresses and cell numbers are worth alot isn't it?
