Hi Guys,

Does anyone know of free smtp service or server I can use for my website? It's hosted on a US server... and the smtp server used by the hosting company is FREAKING slow...

I can't, i'm using a free service from xtreemhost.com, and smtp is only available for premium customers...

i don't want to pay for anything, thats why I'm asking for a free service... Only hosting a small website with all my home content that I wish to sell before emigrating...

Already tried gmail, and it won't work, because it uses all kinds of security stuff like SSL ad TLS, which my shoping cart software doesn't support. I need BASIC smtp stuff, I can only input the following info into my shopping cart smtp settings

host, username, password, port.

So GMAIL wont work...

doubt you will find something like that. what is the address of your website so we can check it out

Not yet :) Still need to upload 90% of my stuff, only has about 16 products on it atm :) but its going to work awesome, people can place the order online, but payment is COD or EFT... but it's nice and easy for what I want to do :)

I would be curious to see what you got there as we are also moving into our own place next year and would like to start getting things in order and would like to see what you have. and where are you based?

I have some really nice stuff that I'm selling, ranging from High-Def LCD's to nice modern furniture, and also some Computer Hardware stuff, at very good prices :)

There are different port numbers for SSL, TLS, and unsecured SMTP. I believe that the above info is all you need.

Try using smtp.gmail.com, port 587 (TLS), and your full gmail address, and password.

Don't know if the Google SMTP server will allow you to fake the sender email address. It might reject your mail, or replace the sender. You'll have to test it out. You might want to log in to your GMail account from the Gmail website, and go to the settings menu/tab to see if there are any options for faking an email address. I have a sneaky feeling that they will allow it, as long as you can prove that you own the email address you are trying to fake..
