can you tell me how to do it in firefox
I opened the proxy settings and there are a lot of fields
I not sure what to put where
 
in internet explorer go to tools--->internet options--->connections. double click on ur connection then click on "use proxy server..." and enter the proxy settings given. it'll automatically use the same settings for ftp, smtp, pop3 etc. thing is this proxy didn't work for me, webpages didnt load at all so i had to undo the changes, back to normal now :(
 
Yep. Doesn't work. Just goes to show how desperate we all are. Someone posts something, however small, that may improve our broadband experience...and we jump on it like a lion jumps on an injured springbok. Sheesh.
 
Or lets try other ports, telkom prob allready saw this posting and blocked those ports.. But please dont listen to me, I have never worked with this and I have no idea what im talking about.

Clipse, I know you've had to to do with those bliksems, but I think there's a bigger chance that whoever this "MRBEEM" is, he just got the address off one of those dodgy open proxy list websites.

If not, where is he? :D
 
blocked the ports, haha i dont think so, hey run it on port 80 and see if they block that :p

This is not a proxy harvested from a Free Proxy List. This is infact one of my servers in the States that I have turned into a proxy.

I am doing this to do my part in the fight against Telkom.

It doesn't come cheap, but MUCH cheaper than Telkom!

P.S - I'm currently working on a VPN as well. Might take a while....

I can't imagine Telkom would block port 443 considering its used for ssl.
 
Noticed the same.

I still want to know how to set up a proxy on my local machine, I have one and I can chat msn thru it, but dc++ doesnt like it much.

Is there anyone here that knows how proxies and routers get along?
