i feel like dropping dsl, they are so outclassed and outpriced by mobile competitors

Huh? Wonder why so many mobile users are crying then since they can't get adsl.

The state of Internet in SA is shocking.

- ADSL is in bad quality
- 3G / HSPA is so damn expensive.

No where to run, consumers are trapped with the desition to get cheap and low quality or low / best quality and expensive broadband for less value.

The quality of wireless is also terrible in most places, and it usually falls back to using GPRS when the phone can't find a strong enough signal for high speed internet.

Hell I would be extremely happy if I could just get a consistent 4Mbps line access, rather than my dodgy 3Mbps line that keeps dropping that I currently have

Glad I am not alone, although I seem to have found a happy stable spot just under 3Mbps.
