It seems to me that the main driving force is to have a little homeland for people wanting to live in a fully westernized world. I guess I can understand that. In the meantime I'll enjoy the good things of living in a cultural melting pot like Gauteng brings and grow my business. Sure BEE and racism is an issue, but hey... 'n Boer maak' n plan...
 
If the ANC triggers hyper inflation the DA will move to succeeding the WC, you won't need the Cape party at that point. A lot of white people will flee the country but lest face it many won't be able to. They will all flock to the WC and the WC would try split off. They should easily manage it as the ANC will be financially collapsing and the WC will have the funding to militarily defend themselves with little problem I suspect, especially if they get Israeli support of any kind.

This is opinion piece of Bullard though and not cape party initiative - he could be involved in CP but I haven't heard of it. I reckon he misses his limelight he had once and tries to provoke now and then. He used to write on many topics but since sunday times saga, he seems to have become uni-dimensional.
 
Isn't our main port Durban? So either we'll have to get shilping containers to come to our harbour or SA will probably impose huge tariffs on the republic of WC.

Well, as per the local experts who are also RWC hopeful, durban will be chinese province so wouldn't be a bad idea to learn a bit of mandarin.

It's not even an original opinion this has been been floating around for years he is just trying to seem relevant and controversial as usual.

As awesome as Cape Independence would be, I can't think of any reason why the ANC would allow this to happen?

Yeah, there would have to be major and extended protests followed by a referendum of sorts. Its all pie in the sky stuff of course.
 
Maybe we should just let every province be it's own separate legal entity with it's own laws similar to the US of A

Can't they migrate to other provinces? We want crime free zone in WC, like europe.

If it did happen it would be very involuntary. However, in a situation where the country has collapsed enough that the majority of the people in the WC want to go it solo the ANC would not have the means to stop them. Anyone with money would flee to the Cape and it would succeed and buy its independence with a bit of tax/donations on that wealth. If the ANC did try actually militarily stop it they would be unable to due to the current state of the SA military and the fact that the Cape would be able to due to wealth create a mercenary and conscripted defense force very quickly that would easily outperform the forces left under ANC control. Anyways, if that does happen the ANC will have bigger fish to fry. If Hyperinflation hits Zim style even the ignorant poor will know how terrible that is and the whole of SA will be seething with tribalism rising up massively. I doubt the rest of the country would be stable as tribes start looking inwards and start inter-fighting. For instance if the Cape is going I can guarantee you an Indian/Zulu alliance will be trying to do the same thing in KZN.

IF SA experiences even half of what you are talking about, there won't be a "Cape" to flee to, it will have collapsed as well.
