Free upload ADSL accounts?

Hi

i'm new here and was wondering whether there are any ISPs out there that offer ADSL accounts where they don't charge for your uploads? So your downloads are charged per GB or whatever, but you can upload as much as you like for free?

That defeats the purpose of imposing caps on accounts.

The cap you get on any account includes downloaded AND uploaded data, seeing as no matter which way the data goes, data is still flowing =P

Uploading (like downloading) is counted as bandwidth. Bandwidth is what we pay an arm and a leg for here, so nope, not going to happen. Nice try though

None of you are understanding his logic though. As far as I understand, local first-tier ISPs (SAIX,NEOTEL,UUNET,IS,etc) pay their international peers for downloading content through them, not for overall bandwidth consumption, while those providers pay for their downloaded content from here. So in other words, if we upload, we shouldn't be charged, because SAIX is being paid for the stuff we pay to upload. Makes sense?
This is my intuitive belief though, I may well be wrong.. it just makes sense though. (eg: Surely SAIX must get paid if international users download from a SAIX FTP?)
