They have kept it like this since 02/12/2006 I think...

I'm sure the "free" GPRS is a deliberate move by VM to attract more customers. When they start billing again (I'm almost willing to bet it will be around 1 January), they will still have the cheapest data rate of all the SA networks, so people won't easily port to another network.
Maybe it's a bit faster due to decreased usage. People tend to use less bandwidth if they actually have to pay for it. I stopped all 30 of my downloads when I realised they started billing meSkeptik said:I think it's a bit faster, but I'm not sure.
Vm is billing again and will be analysing your accounts to charge for all free use.
Not really!
Yes it's back to normal with a few more stalling problems than before. I think it's a bit faster, but I'm not sure.

i have been following this thread for a while now and i really wana ask, has anyone managed to get free GPRS?
ok,will be watching this post closely for any updates!
You don’t have the settings for VM gprs yet?
Lets fix that...here:
Gateway/IP Address: 196.031.116.242
Port: 9201
APN: vdata
Username and password must be blank.
So easy!
Please re-Read the Thread. You obviously missed about 90% of the posts in here or something. Enjoy!
oh, and Merry Xmas to all!
Thats the point. Those was free but it was not the settings that made them so but a network 'fault'. There aint 'free' settings for VM. This Thread made it clear.
