Well, a dead goat or not, the fact is that i am happy to pay for decent services. The vlive internet was usually slow. not willing to pay for that
South Africa’s biggest forum. Discuss, discover, and connect with thousands of members.
using the mms.vodacom.net apn gives free (BUT NOTORIOUSLY SLOW) gprs
LOL, just one small problem with the prize - what if - a pre-paid forumite wins? [i.e. no PPDBs publicly available yet]![]()
If you use the vlive apn you'll get slower speeds regardless as it goes through the proxy which was always overloaded. If you want faster speeds then use the internet apn without the proxy. If you're on the pc however then use the vlive apn with the proxy and say goodbye to spyware.BUT what is the implications of this free wap?
Will The paying members be experiencing slower speeds?
Will this free wap/web mean ppdbs will take even longer to me immenently activated?
The goat is on its last legs. Vodacom is just ironing out the bugs if there are any left so it doesn't matter what people say or do not say. If we were talking about a different way and not the standard way then it would be another matter.you people really AINT getting it are you... if Vodacom thinks the Goat is dead then it will leave it alone!!!!!!!! now you have to keep on telling everyone the goat is alive!!! so what will vodacom do? biting your noses to spite your face.
I think there is still away and if Vodacom says there isn't one then they already made the number one fundamental mistake. I'm not willing to bet on this yet as I don't know anything and even if I did why would I give it up for 1GB that I have to use within a month.I'm willing to put a bet on this![]()
Whoever can prove to me that there is still a way to not be billed will get a once-of 1Gb data bundle added to his account, at my expense! But, if you're wrong, you buy me a beer!
You have to prove it, can't be hear-say. I'll get the engineers to look into it with you. This offer qualifies for every unique report, i.e. if you have more than one distinct answer, you get a 1Gb bundle for each. Don't PM me with the same thing a thousand times! And use the how-to-PM-Vodacom3G template.
First-come, first-served!
(The judges' (me) decision will be final!)
FALSE, gives errors with or without 196.6.128.13 on all browsers.using the mms.vodacom.net apn gives free (BUT NOTORIOUSLY SLOW) gprs
We have it!!! An admission that Vodacom is just stretching this out to torment people.Wise-@ss! Just for you, I'll throw the launch of PPDB in!

Not with you, DNS restriction?V3G seeing as you are getting charged R2/mb without using the loophole, VC might aswell just unblock DNS restricting on vlive and make it a normal APN like the 'internet' APN. well just opinion?![]()
They all have a direct block for it as a matter of fact. The apn blocks all ips other than the proxy and the proxy blocks all non-mms data. A double fail-safe which should have been used with vlive. But instead Vodacom used their standard proxy which allows access to all sites. A real dumb@ss move actually which allowed the cat to get in the bag until it started biting and scratching."using the mms.vodacom.net apn gives free (BUT NOTORIOUSLY SLOW) gprs"
Tried this a LONG time ago,did NOT work then.....for me anyways
MTN the same, VM even have a direct block for this.
He means ip restriction as in 196.6.128.12.Not with you, DNS restriction?
BTW, you're right, there still is a way to get free internet. Amazing what Google will produce! Just tried it and it works....![]()
Now the moral question; do I give myself a 1Gb bundle?![]()
Vodacom can just as well stop branding their phones now and tell people how to get rid of the s**t.
