As an opener...

Francois Fillon 'was paid $50,000 to arrange meeting with Vladimir Putin'

French presidential candidate François Fillon was reportedly paid $50,000 (£40,000) for setting up a meeting between a Lebanese billionaire and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The former Prime Minister allegedly used his contacts to facilitate two meetings for Fouad Makhzoumi in 2015; one with the Kremlin leader and another with Total CEO Patrick Pouyanné, Le Canard enchaîné, a satirical weekly newspaper.

The latest allegations follow claims by the Mediapart journal, that Mr Fillon’s consulting firm 2F Conseil signed a contract with Future Pipe Industries in 2015, a company owned by the Lebanese businessman.

Meanwhile, French Interior Minister Bruno Le Roux has been forced to resign over a “fake” parliamentary job scandal embroiling his family.

Mr Le Roux said he had handed his resignation to French President Francois Hollande because he felt it was his “responsibility”. However, he continues to deny wrongdoing.

He denies vehemently.

The issue is that all of it is released by journalists without prior investigation and the prosecution starts working only once it's leaked in the media, so it's very difficult to tell what's true or not.

Fillon claims that these informations come from state services (which seeing the timing could be plausible), each time he gains a few points in the polls, something new pops out.

It's really a strange election, the left is 6 feet under, one of theirs (Macron) split and created his own party but is quite dirty as well, Fillon who had an image of being very clean appears to not be this much. Le Pen never had a clean image and it's getting worse (tax evasion, fraud...).

Honestly, these stories have always existed in French politics and were used to fund parties and campaigns (never personal gain), but there was a sort of omerta on it and the journalists knew but weren't releasing it. They are doing it for the first time and it's bloody.

Given the anti-establishment candidate in this one is Marine Le Pen ... Go Le Pen!!! :p

Tax fraud, paying false assistants with the EU parliament money, frauding on campaign's accounts, being forbidden to work with the guy who created the fraud but hiring him as an employee instead and being in the Panama papers.

What is anti-establishment about Le Pen ? They are a dynasty which is caricatural of the establishment.

Ruling all of it from their castle worth 5+ million euros (obtained through a dodgy inheritance).

She's also known in some circles to have quite an issue with alcohol.

Oh I dunno ... perhaps the fact that she wants to quit the Eurozone?

That's as anti-establishment as it gets in EU terms.

The leftist parties want too...

The royalist right wants too...

The republican christian right wants too...

That only makes about 10 other parties.

Only Le Pen is getting the intention attached to her name, rightly or wrongly so, it makes no difference. She is the recognized anti-establishment candidate, it doesn't matter what you believe, just as it doesn't matter what other smaller parties stand for.

Because voting for a person whose entire circle of friends admires Hitler and is proud of it is sane (in addition of being crooks)...

Translate this article and read it please:

Another one with nazi parties: https://www.franceinter.fr/emissions/l-invite-de-7h50/l-invite-de-7h50-15-mars-2017

Because taking out gypsies' gold teeth is also a good idea (they pull out one stupidity like this per week) http://www.20minutes.fr/lyon/203537...dents-or-roms-va-passer-commission-discipline

And last, because Melenchon is a small candidate (he actually came out winner of the debate) and he's anti EU.

There are royalists in France?

Do they want the descendants of the House of Bourbon to take the throne or what?

This is going to be fun election if almost everyone wants to quit the EU. That's a garenteed win for the anti-establishment.
So who is actually left that wants to stay in the EU?

These parties have always been anti EU since the 1960s so it's nothing new.

The center right, the center and the center left.

They should get around 65-70% of the votes at the first round.

The second is between the two best of the first round (most likely FN vs center right, FN vs center or center right vs center). Pro Eu win by 60 to 100% (in case the two finalists are both pro EU).

So between the choice of Commies and Nazis you'd prefer to vote for the communist?

Where did I say that ?

I'd vote for neither of them even if they were the only two candidates, I'd rather relinquish my nationality.

I know who I'm going to vote for, and he's very pro EU.
