Please note we are aware of the performance issues being experienced in George
Our teams are currently on site completing the installation of the new back haul between Cape Town and George which will increase the capacity for the region.
This is estimated to be completed by COB 27/11/19.

Believe the previous deadline was last week. Could be wrong..

Losing more packets than usual this evening...

Lightfibre are busy in the region laying fibre Knysna - Sedgefield - George along the N2. I asked one of the crew and he said it was for Liquid Telecom. Don't know if they're also active west of George.

Looks like a cutover happened at 18:42.
Could the upgrade have just taken place?

Looking better here as well, ping dropped from 40ms to 9-11ms in 10 minutes, so yeah they maybe did jump over.

Haven't seen these stats since day one. Keeping fingers crossed here!!!!

Still getting packet loss, lot less than last night or the weekends. But still has a packet loss of 5-10%, still better than what it was.

back haul seems to be under some load now, that's doing better as well. Getting 60-80mbps, compared to those 5mbps .. All in all, not done yet, but a lot better it seems. I'm guessing the network team will be optimizing tomorrow

Not quite what it was, but after sitting with 3/70 for so long + massive packetloss, I'm good to go for now.
Will keep monitoring and see.

Some packetloss again pinging voxtelecom.co.za - have added a few other destinations to see if it's not just their server this time.



Edit: Some occasional packetloss still to be seen on other destinations such as absa.co.za as well.
Will see if it's the norm or gets worse tonight.

Suddenly got packetloss to EU, but could be a Vox routing issue.
Will update around crunch time (+8pm)
