Hi there

My SO removed her Ipod from her laptop (through the usual "eject" procedures) but now the Ipod is frozen on the "OK to Disconnect" screen.

It doesn't respond to anything (She has tried to hold the slider down) and without physical buttons, probably impossible to restart.

Does she wait until the battery drains? It seems the battery is quite a mission to remove?

Have you tried:
1. Holding down the ‘menu’ and ‘play’ buttons simultaneously for about 5 seconds.
2. Toggle the ‘hold’ switch on and off to ‘lock’ then ‘unlock’ the iPod controls. Then press the ‘Menu’ and ‘Select’ (centre) buttons for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.

Thanks but... its a touch screen - no such buttons.

Your only option might be a hard reset:
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for about ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

+1 it will enter Dfu mode or recovery mode then just connect it to the pc and it should work
sometimes it restarts without having to connect it to the pc
