Indeed - We host a server behind the the IS backbone. Here's an upload and then a download done on 128k MyWireless:

ftp> put test
local: test remote: test
227 Entering Passive Mode (xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xx,xxx)
150 Accepted data connection
226-12905.1 Mbytes free disk space
226-File successfully transferred
226 110.817 seconds (measured here), 10.33 Kbytes per second
1172616 bytes sent in 107 secs (11 Kbytes/sec)

ftp> get test
local: test remote: test
227 Entering Passive Mode (xxx,xxx,xxx,xx,xxx,xx)
150-Accepted data connection
150 1145.1 kbytes to download
226-File successfully transferred
226 202.388 seconds (measured here), 5.66 Kbytes per second
1172616 bytes received in 206 secs (5.6 Kbytes/sec)

... and all this while an ISO download and other downloads was going on - hence the slower download. And all done remotely on privet's system at home ;-) (sorry privet!)
