FTP Speed slow

Hi all

Why is ftp so slow compared to downloading from http on http I average 48-52 but ftp is between 6 and 18 is there something I am doing wrong

Could be that your using PASSIVE FTP mode which transfers on a different port than 21. Passive FTP allocates a port for every transfer your doing, usually in the 1000+ range, in which case you are subject to Telkom's bandwidth shapping nonsense. Check your FTP programs options and turn if off if its on.
