I think the Kenridge area showed interest so suddenly due to the neighbourhood watch group... went from 7% to 103% in a few days. You should contact your group if there is one.

Also depends on whether the area is earmarked by Telkom or Vumatel... like Telkom is doing Van Riebeeckshof AFAIK.

Anyway I can smell the fibre... guys digging metres from my home yesterday... can't wait for them to come and ruin my front yard. Then free from Telkom internet after a long 23 years.

Well, based on their coverage map, I assume Vumatel is genuinely interested in the area. If there is a race between Vumatel and Telkom, I hope Vumatel wins it.

Are you in the Kenridge area? We are fairly new to Door de Kraal, hence why I reached out here on the forums for any information. I think the neighbourhood watch is Welgemoed Safe, but they cover a far wider area. Might be good though, if we get enough signups in the greater area they might prioritise us....

Looks like we fall just outside of Welgemoed Safe's coverage area...

I am in Door de Kraal... or that is what we believe. It may be the 'fake Door de Kraal on the opposite side of the dam" to you.

I am not part of any neighbourhood group myself... just know that a prompt to the 951 other busy-bodies in Kenridge had an instant effect.
Yeah pity, it seems that the entire Door de Kraal falls under KNI but only 2% subscribes.

Interesting, according to Google Maps, the area east of Jip de Jager and west of the dam falls under Kenridge, but this area appears to be included in the coverage area for Door de Kraal and Protea Valley.

It would almost seem that the neighbourhoods around Door de Kraal (as designated by Google Maps at least) all have some sort of initiative/association, but not Door de Kraal itself. And while the other initiatives appear willing to include Door de Kraal, it doesn't fully fall in with any, and it's too small to form it's own. :(

21% target reached, 309 more sign-ups needed https://vumatel.co.za/coverage

Yup. I posted on the Protea Valley Residents Association FB page, seems to have had a small impact. Hopefully this will get the ball rolling.
I'm also trying to sign up as a Vumatel Fibre Champion, door-to-door flyers will have the largest impact in my opinion.

Oh right - thanks. Let me know if you need help with the flyer distribution.

Looks like we're back to crawling speed for signups :( Maybe there are "weekend facebookers" that'll see the post over the weekend (yes, I'm an optimist :p )

@knoop, if/when I have flyers, I'll certainly let you know, thanks.

Thanks Matthie!
It appears as thought there was another small interest burst over lunch, only 300 more signups required.

Of course, if/when we do reach the required number of signups, it is apparently beneficial to continue the drive, as neighbourhoods that exceed the required number gets prioritised.

Sorry I've been so quiet these last few days. I'm travelling for work.

25% of target reached
292 more sign-ups needed to qualify

Looks like we've slowed down a bit again, but it's slowly ticking over. At least we've reached the 25% mark.
