FTTH to a Private Home Installation - SADV - Progress Documented

Weird to see them working on a weekend, they only work weekdays here
 
This past weekend we have had Vumatel canvassers cold calling homes and one of their offers was a 40/10 line at R529 per month including free installation. The few ISP's I remember being quoted were Afrihost @AfriNatic and Web Africa. I am not really certain how legitimate this is but our contact details were taken and we will see once a formal offer is made. This is a sweet deal if it ever actually comes to light. The projection is that the line will go live in January 2021. I wonder if anyone else has had this offered.

Don't give your number to Vumatel people, you will get a lot of spam messages after that and no, they do not respect opt out messages.

That sounds like a Vuma Reach offer. Vuma Reach offers are available in specific areas only. The pictures you have posted here shows SADV roll out so that is Vuma Core products offer under the Vuma Aerial/Gpon offering. You won't be able to get Vuma Reach then.

@SHANRSA's suburb is a Reach area.

Ohh okay thanks for the info. In that case @SHANRSA Yes Vuma Reach. 20/10 for R399 monthly or 40/10 for R529 monthly free install. We have a lot of Vuma Reach clients on our network and I think most if not all are happy with the speeds. It's a great offer one that is pretty much hard to beat. :)
 
Thanks @AfriNatic , Vuma can reach out to me anytime. The 40/10 deal is a winner at R529, I can still keep my Telkom uncapped LTE as a backup, what a pleasure.

Technically there are no Vuma packages. We are an FNO only, not an ISP in any way.

Core and Reach are two separate FTTH products we sell to ISP's. They differ in technology and pricing.

I see a Reach package 40/10 for R529 but on Core (with entered address) cheapest 20/2 package is R730.

Is this because of location or is there other factors?

Location. The traditional core network is what the majority of Vumatel areas have, and is the prices we all know. Reach is a product developed for a lower LSM area, and uses a different aggregated type of backhaul, which is at a different cost point.
