Fuel consumption

https://www.iwantfuel.co.za/ predicting under a rand decrease for diesel but over R2/L decrease for petrol. The size of the decrease has been falling for weeks so is likely to be a bit less still next week Wednesday when the price is dropped but its still going to be a significant decrease for petrol.

I presume their 'prediction' is based on the publicly available CEF calculations...

Heavy foot today around the block. Wanted to show the naysayers here that 162kW and 350Nm with a dual-clutch is more than solid.

Used my wife's car this week, fck me, this things get 8+ more kilometers for every litre of fuel than my car. Unbelievable. Over a month that's quite a large difference.

This thing is heavy on juice, currently showing 500 odd kilometers range to empty on a full tank. And it's slow as fck as well in addition to that.

In addition to the above the horrid piece of **** just broke down as well.

I get about 5.7l per 100km in traffic, but rather than driving more economically I go to work at 6am and then go home at 3pm, arranged it with my office. Then log on 4pm till about 5pm to make up for the hour. They are happy with that, as long as I actually go to work.

But I also alternate between me and a colleague, so he drives 1x week and the next is me. (Unless car issues, or one has to go for a service.). Saving a lot of fuel that way too. Another colleague has asked to join in too, so will basically drive every 3rd week. So more fuel saved.

Oh, I am with Ucount level 5, so get back R5 a litre of fuel. They arent with any option so give me cash and I just swipe. Scoring big time that way too, they dont mind.

Uhm Hiluxes dont break. What on earth did you do? Its like Rolls Royce before.

A friend of mine had one, it broke one day, called Rolls Royce. They picked up the car, got the part from the UK and dropped the fixed car at him. He waited a month but didnt get the final bill which they said they would send him. So he called them and they had no knowledge of his car or that they fixed it. The mechanic simply said "Roll Royces dont break down, so no way we couldve fixed it, nor could you get the bill for fixing them".

Those Subaru WRX drivers must be sweating hahaha. When its not the fuel bill its the cost to fix the tyres. They like to wear out on the edges.

Huh, how does a Hilux break down?

Well clearly they do break down. The clutch gave in up Sir Lowry's pass. Then I got an Isuzu, kb250, brought this back and requested another vehicle as I'd need to leave at 5h00 with this piece of **** as it can't go up hills any faster than 70.

Then got a ranger, after loading this up I noticed that it has a flat Tyre. Just went to fix this now.

If anything else goes wrong now I'm just fckng staying home.

I drove to KZN, got my car down to 8.8l/100 and it won't go any less. It even disconnected the running gear on downhills and it still won't go below 8.8 lol. I thought turbos and superchargers are supposed to help

What car? This is a 3.2 I'm using now, showing 12.2 l/100 average. Will see if I can bring it down.
