Fuel consumption

2018 Fiesta 1.5 tdci but its the 2019 shape.
To add to that, I had a full load, boot and back seat was packed with luggage and shopping items we brought back from Durban.

I usually do 120 - 140 going between Durban and Richards Bay, my usual consumption is around 4.3 - 4.5/100km

Dont think I've ever seen mine go that high before lol
Ja, I have the 1.6 petrol turbo.

Bloody hell, how can you people even live with that consumption. Even the work hilux, towing a full load at speed didn't get that. I did 400km on 60 litres between cape town and gp and that I considered really bad.

And you weren't even towing, that was day to day?
Smiles per Litre > Miles per Litre
Here's the thing though, I fill up the scoob once a month.
In fact I filled up before the last increase, and filled up again only this morning...

Yup.
To be fair, it made the MOST AMAZING noises so I was probably a lot more enthusiastic than I needed to be :D

had to use my 05 sti for a few weeks , a full tank got me 198km :X3::eek::confused:

Lucky iam back to my 03 wrx , so should get around 320km for a full tank.
Those short ratio 6 speeds are the killer.
I have an EJ207 in the WRX, in fact full STi Setup, just kept the 5 speed Gbox. I think that's helped a lot.

That defender is actually relatively light on fuel, especially when compared to some of the nightmares in this thread. Is it a 90?

Yep, 2010 90 Puma 2.4. The consumption dropped quite a bit when I had it remapped back in 2011. I do tend to drive like a sports car, what with the remap, bigger intercooler, Bilstein shocks, and Slickshift gearlever.

It's depressing that your Range Rover gets the same avg consumption as my slow ass 5 series.
400km from a 70L tank

What will depress you even more is that this is mostly town driving.

On the open road, cruise control on 130kmh (GPS 126kmh), I've gotten as low as 11,1, that was on a run from Philipolis to Oudtshoorn on a day when it was 38C at 10 am and we saw 46-47C by Beaufort West!

The consumption also dropped a bit after I did the Velocity AP remap + supercharger pulley.

That makes it even more impressive.

I did a nice little trip to Clarens and back, about 800km at 5.9 l/100km on a Ford 2.0 TDCi. We did 5.5 on the way down, but driving around there for a couple of days pushed it up.

https://www.iwantfuel.co.za/ predicting under a rand decrease for diesel but over R2/L decrease for petrol. The size of the decrease has been falling for weeks so is likely to be a bit less still next week Wednesday when the price is dropped but its still going to be a significant decrease for petrol.
