Fuel price task team

Heard on 702 that Ramaphosa started a fuel price task team to see how they can reduce the petrol price. But I cant find anything on the net about it.

Any info out there?
 
I use something called a "search engine" which allows me to type in keywords like "Ramaphosa started a fuel price task team" and it spits out results found on the internet (it's very complicated, so won't even try to begin to explain how a search engine works)

Fahrk me, that's quite a novel idea. You should patent it dude, will make millions. Who would of thought of a "search engine".
 
A bit more detail on how they are actually going to approach this. What kind of steps do they plan on taking? You know, detail.
 
Reducing the fuel price is one thing, the retailers won't drop their prices. They haven't dropped it once after a fuel price decrease that I can recall..

Dunno what you're on about. It's government controlled pricing as far as I know. With diesel , variations are allowed because of wholesale.

They are going to set up office at the Indaba hotel with wags, and figure this out over a few crates of Johnny Walker Blue. This will be on a semi permanent basis until the task team is broken up
 
Typical ANC. Looking for solutions to the problems they created.

Had you stopped Zuma before he pulled the country through his arse the currency would be worth more for a start and that in itself would've seen the fuel price at lower levels. Maybe also stop promising everything for free and you would not have a widening hole in the budget and the subsequent need to hike taxes?

Yes yes, US trade war and all that, but without the economic sabotage wrought by the Zuma administration SA would have more leeway to work with.

He means stores IMPACTED by the increase, never reduce their prices even though the benefit from the decreases.

Aaah. Ok. But is the fuel decrease split over a truckload of goods that much to actually affect the price of goods? Would we even notice?

If it's a R1 reduction, that is a less than 10% drop in fuel cost. That doesn't translate to a 10% drop in farming or manufacturing cost. Would probably be a 1-2% drop in total cost.

So instead of paying R19.99 for a bag of onions, you would pay R19.70 . Would you actually notice?

We always notice it when the price goes up.

Except prices go up by like 5% when fuel price spikes... never really drops after that.
