Won't it just be the on-board OS software?
In other words you will see the video and be ablen to record video possibly and you can take pics and maybe adjust lighter and darker or auto white balance and auto zoom functions.
You can do basic, but nothing fancy. You might have to get your own 3rd party software.
This is speculation only and not facts, but this the way many on-board webcams work.

The laptop used to have software that could do all that but then it had to be formatted and now the softwares gone but he cant remember what software he was using.
We have the drivers installed for the webcam and it works in skype. but he would like to be able to take still pictures and record video etc.
