Full digital TV network now online

I care about which TV stations would launch. If we have the same thing as DSTV's compact services and the like duplicated in non-subscription based FTA services for the general public they'll have to take note and restructure their packages to be more unbundled.

They made changes a few days ago and now I am just receiving eTV in my area :(
The video quality of channels is so-so and the audio quality is crap

What do you need to connect to it? A dish?

My TV can receive dtv but it's not picking up anything.

Hi Leon. If you can give feedback to ICASA and Sentech it may help them identify issues. I know, I know - it seems like a long shot, but they are in active testing so need to know what works and doesn't

LOL. Precisely what was predicted. With DTV you either get good picture quality or no picture quality. There's no in betweens like with analogue where you at least get to see a picture through the snow.

So what equipment is needed to get a signal?

Oh, what type of signal does your TV support?

I can't find that out. It's an LG 50pm4700.
From the specs it supports DVB-T and DVB-C (cable). We have DVB-T2. It does not say T1 or T2 but it seems DVB-T is just a synonym for DVB-T1. That being the case it doesn't seem to support it.

Thanks I'm not looking to get anymore set top boxes.

Is it SABC1, 2, 3 and ETV?
