Full tank vs first click

Hobo's exploding cars with their cigarettes, yeah i see that on the news all the time :D

This forum never fails to entertain.

If the hobo opens the fuel cap and puts his stompie down the fuel filler pipe it might be a different story all together.

No, it won't.

Reason I fill up to auto-stop is because they waste so much damn time trying to fill my tank to the brim. Also why I seldom let them wash my windscreen. Time is money, friend.

IIRC, the reason why we can't fill out petrol tanks ourselves if because we lack the training to handle the chemical.
The petrol attendants are trained to do this.

So, if that is correct:
What would the petrol attendant's answer be to the OPs question ?

LOL
no, it's purely labour protection.

Yip only in sa,

Also autostop or first click,

Never really understood why people fill to the brim,

And another thing, is it dangerous to fill while your engine running?

Yes, turning alternators etc can make sparks - as can any cracks in HT leads or similar.

I normally ask for "first click". I worry about fuel expansion that could cause fuel to leak or maybe even a fire. Besides that, for what I do, the the extra fuel that I could have got from filling to the brim doesn't make a difference for the distances I drive.
