Full tank vs first click

My Subaru Manual specifically says to stop at the first click.

Interesting, air would get trapped in the bottom left and fuel would fill up into the inlet and breather pipe.

Reason I fill up to auto-stop is because they waste so much damn time trying to fill my tank to the brim. Also why I seldom let them wash my windscreen. Time is money, friend.

Yes, turning alternators etc can make sparks - as can any cracks in HT leads or similar.

I normally ask for "first click". I worry about fuel expansion that could cause fuel to leak or maybe even a fire. Besides that, for what I do, the the extra fuel that I could have got from filling to the brim doesn't make a difference for the distances I drive.
