Cape Town - Coloured people have become the latest victims of a scathing race attack on Facebook.

Just weeks after black people were compared to monkeys, a woman named Marie van Rensburg called coloured people “a messed up race” who can’t take care of their children and are lazy drunkards who don’t want to get an education.

Van Rensburg said coloured mothers were negligent, and urged them to “stop opening their legs”, before slamming coloured men for making kids “left, right and centre”.

The shocking comments were made on the back of a devastating tragedy in Kakamas last week, where five young cousins were found dead in an old freezer in their grandmother’s backyard.

So the focus again goes to the wrong people (some tannie on Facebook), as opposed to looking at why there are so many cases of child neglect in South Africa.

Who gives a ****.

People have been making racist comments online since the internet began. What's with this latest craze where some backwards fool makes a comment and it gets this kind of attention? It's like the media are trying their best to nurture an environment of hate in this country. **** off with your fear-mongering.

The media house that has ties the the ANC

I don't understand why this upset anyone. We are all racist to different degrees. The sometimes racist reactions from the "victims" proof that. Tolerance is what sets us apart.

The profile picture and name says Van Rensberg.

This makes me wonder if this is not a troll account attempting to drive up more racial hatred. There is no such a surname, but a very common mistake when done by someone who has English as a second language :o

Edit: I see they purposefully cut of the top of the post so you can't see the name. See it on the landing page here:

You'd think people would be smarter about their posts on social media by now. I mean really.

I had a Van Rensberg classmate in primary school. One Van Rensberg and two Van Rensburgs.

If true I apologise profusely. I have NEVER in my life met a Van Rensberg.

You have a point. What I understood: van Rensberg, and not Van Rensberg. The capital V is wrong.
