Fury over sjambok attack on cyclists

Its a free for all... we are all total cvnts. Bikers, cyclists, motorists and pedestrians.
I drive on the major roads once in a blue moon.
Pedestrians do as they please ( The death toll during public holidays tells that story )
Bikers get agro and kick of mirrors
Cyclists are moody and ride side by side
Motorist doesn't want to just chill and give a little bit of way to anybody. ITS MY SPOT AND I'LL DEFEND IT TO MY DEATH BED~!!! ARRGGGG!!!!
And then our special little friends Taxi Drivers. Who has seen a Taxi driver obey the law? There should be a reward for this. My favourite is stopping inside a traffic circle. Drives me bonkers. :o

Put it all together and you get things like this happen.

( I'm the first one to raise my hand and say I'm agro. And tell my self to breath and not get angry.

Obviously illegal and a quite unnecessary response to cyclists. However, some of them (cyclists) seem to have a bad attitude in relation to other road users. Riding right through red lights, ignoring stop streets, riding 3 abreast and ignoring requests to pull over are just some of the incidents I have seen.

When a light turned red in front of me, I slowed down and stopped but the cyclist behind rode into my car, fell onto the boot and into the street. His mates started kicking the car and dented 3 doors and 3 panels. Whereupon they all mounted their bicycles and rode off. The motorist behind recognised one of the cyclists and accompanied me to the SAPS.

The reason given - "we were wearing reflective clothing and I should have seen them". When I pointed out that he rode into me and not the other way around, this was ignored. At the moment I am trying to recover the repair bill of R 23k

If this happened to me - only one possible outcome - there would have been some flattened cyclists with bad attitudes strewn on the road. Amazing how much damage a 1ton car can do to arrogant and ignorant cyclists. As a motorcycle rider I have the utmost respect for riders and cyclists - but your experience just goes to show the minority of rotten apples amongst the majority

Some people will look for any excuse to bash cyclists.
I hardly ever take my road bike out anymore, its just too dangerous with idiot drivers everywhere.
Its safer off road, even if that means the risk of being bike jacked by some punks.

Everyone who uses the road is pretty much an ass these days.

You'd potentially kill someone for kicking your car? Talk about road rage.

Thats hectic, sue those nutters for emotional trauma etc.

Don't condone this. But cyclists most of the time are as-holes.

And they want to be treated like cars and bikes. Problem is that they do not have license plates. By all means allow them to pay a registration fee and have their street/road going bikes carry a license plate.

And go for a Learner's Licence test

About time somebody stood up and punished these cyclists for thinking they own the road!
