Gabriel Knight

Although I think Tim Curry owns the role, the actor who played Gabriel in GK2 was pretty good..

Has anyone played Jane Jenson's new game (Grey Matter)?

I've played the demo on the Xbox [can download if from Xbox Live] . It is pretty much standard point-and-click adventure gaming, except they added this "hot spot wheel" thing that replaces the need to move a mouse icon across the screen to find things to interact with. So you walk around, enter a static room and pop up this hot-spot wheel and on the wheel it will show all the things near you which you can interact with. You got an inventory for picking up items and then using it with items in the world...standard stuff.

The story was starting to get interesting and then the demo ended :(. Story sounds to be on par to something you'll find in Fringe or Supernatural (if you've seen those series), you know obsessed/mad professor trying to contact his dead wife and his assistant with some special magical "tricks" . You play both the professor and the female assistant, switching between them between chapters etc.

However with all adventure games, i wouldn't pay full Xbox price for it because i get the feeling, just like with a Gabriel Knight game...if you're done with it once, you are done with it forever.

I would definitely like to play the full game, but if i had to pick between the new Monkey Island or Back to the Future games that are going for $20 and Gray Matter that might be going for $50 , i would wait for the bargain bin.

I confess I have played through GK Sins of the Father twice, mostly because the voice acting is so good. Thanks for the thoughts though, I think a bargain bin (Steam special) is the way forward.

i forgot most about the games I have played, its nice to re-discover an old game after 5-10 years of sitting in the closet

its best to keep such titles if not for yourself then for future generations of you :P

I loved this game. I had it in 1994 on my Acer O.O.B.E. DX4/100mhz!

Awesome! Did not know how to play it at the time...still have the original disc... do not know how to run it on win7 64 bit tho :(

Edit: Anyone remember Mega Race (with Lance Boyle)?

I want to play it again but i'm afraid because I won't be able to finish it before Armageddon May 21 2011
