One of the staff at a local store told me he suspects shops are weary of getting Note8 accessories because of what happened to the Note7. Many of them spend a lot of money on Note7 accessories which ended up being a waste.

Once the Note8 has been on the market a bit longer and there's a bigger demand, shops will start stocking accessories.

When i had my s8 plus security patches came promptly and i was very impressed. I am still on the August security patch this is very bad. Samsung is not pulling finger with this line no original accessories avail, the free gifts are not avail yet and apparently the s8 range will get Oreo first. Beautiful device... Just very slow from sammy's side

This is typical of Note releases though, Note 4 waited long for its 1st update after the initial release day update, I believe the Note5 faced the same.

Samsung seem to pick up the pace with the Note devices later, the initial update roll outs are slow.

I am just happy the phone is pretty much bug free, I have honestly not run into any weird niggles with the Note8, every time i pick it up it does what I need and without a single problem.

With my S7 Edge I remember having a weird issue where it sometimes didn't want to wake up in my 1st month with it, I posted about it in the S7 thread and I initially blamed myself as I had disabled stuff, I re-enabled everything and it was fine for a few months, but every now and then this issue would creep up again. Very weird. But other than that even the S7E was near faultless.

I am actually nervous to get Oreo, I hope they don't ruin our phone with it, this time I will wait until Vodacom release the update and not jump on the 1st release.

Galaxy S typically get the OS update 1st as Samsung have had more time to work on it for the S Range, while finalising the Notes release FW.

Let the Galaxy S8/S8+ users be the Guinea Pigs for Oreo, and we will get a much more stable and finalised Oreo FW, that's how it has usually happened.

Guys, what's 4G+??? Just saw it on my Note8 here in Hyde Park, lol
Just ran a Speedtest, not bad

Oh man, sounds like a great Mod, but I left the Rooting scene in the Galaxy S4 days, lol. No way am I doing that with my beauty, not until I get the Note9 late next yeat, then the Note8 will become my Guinea Pig.
Such a girl

Nice! Thank you!

Lol! Leave me
I don't want to ruin my precious.

If I root today, by end of this week my Note8 will have been soft bricked and revived 5times and running all kinds of weird ROMs and Kernel tweaks.

I go bananas when I Root.
Im running an S8 port on my S6

Samsung’s releasing a set of S Pen-inspired ringtones for the Galaxy Note 8

Samsung has teamed up with three musicians—a self-proclaimed “pen beater,” a world-class beatboxer and an acclaimed producer—to release a collection of S Pen-inspired ringtones for the Galaxy Note 8.

“Each of the collaborating artists brings to the table a diverse set of skills that, when harmonised, create sounds that are reflective of multifaceted millennials,” explains the firm in a post on its Newsroom.

There are a total of five new tones, which can be used as either ringtones or notification chimes: Beatbox, Bubble Beat, Happy Jungle, Kitchen Mix and Pen Beats. You can listen to them all here, though you’ll probably want to turn down your volume.

Bubble Beat, Happy Jungle and Kitchen Mix were created using 2 Tak’s melodic beatboxing, Tucker’s instrumentals and Jinyoung’s dynamic pen beating, while Beatbox and Pen Beats feature solos from two artists.

Where can I download the ‘Pen and Beats’ playlist?

The Pen and Beats playlist will be available to download from Galaxy Apps later this week.
