Galaxy Note 8

I've never tried it will see later today. I just use Skype or WhatsApp to do video calls

I see the update but don't know if I should.
I'm too scared of having battery problems seeing that there's so many people complaining about it.
For me, it seems similar battery usage
as previous firmware "....... AQ11"
Overnight sleep +- 8+ hrs

My video calling icon is missing thats why i cant make vc. Anyone know how to activate?
Don't waist your time.
If you look at your IMS settings
( use QuickShortcutMaker to find)
You will see it's most
likely activated.( See screenshot)
After Googling a bit, it seems
to me that a lot of Service Providers
eg. Vodacom etc, has done this intentionally.( Not Samsung.)
Video button not active, as they want
you to use a 3rd party app
Then you have to use
data.(money) to video call etc. They score.

On my Note5 video button is on
dialpad.
However on latest device re Note 8
its missing. Replaced with Sms icon.?

Why would it be saving them money if we went through a third party app?
Correction. They are making
money from the internet data you using
to video call, with a 3rd party app.
As that 3rd party app most probably, has to use the internet to do video calls?
Where their stock video call, does not use any data.
This is the only conclusion
I could come to by Googling /reading
various forums, post and opinions.
Who knows i might be wrong.?

I thought it would still use data I do some research learn something new. Plus cool to see what would work out cheaper

Just tested video call from Note 5 to Note 8
It uses no data /internet.
Works fine.
Also its the same cost as a ordinary
phone call.
Now if you use Skype.?
You are going to use data /internet
to video call.
So eg Vodacom scores, with data cost.

Phone and ask Vodacom to provision your sim card for VoLTE, perhaps you will then see the video calling icon.

You're charged per minute when using Samsung's VoLTE, no data is used from your balance.

I activated voLTE on my Note 8 and Note5
(sim) a few months ago. It was working fine.
However voLTE and( wifi calling Note 8) stopped a few days ago.
Vodacom tech "suspects" a " profile handover" issue on their side.
Suppose to fix it but still waiting.

i check almost every day like a fool on a note would do hoping for updates haha so i doubt it would be that i missed something

With yours being a Dual SIM Middle Eastern model, it probably has a few more things to be worked on e.g. possibly two modems? A different language settings etc....
