Galaxy Note 8

Yep, typically Unbranded always has better battery life and performance.

Must say though, I have had no issues with my branded Vodacom Note8, and I have removed the Vodacom apps I could remove.
I bought mine from take a lot. Is it a branded device? I don't have any network logos on startup

Yep, it is indeed unbranded and is probably a XFA device, the best to have as it is exactly how Samsung intended it to be.
With XFA you can still use Cell C's firmware. I think cell c's Wi-Fi calling and Samsung Pay should work with no issue on it if u using cell c

2 days ago I decided to unpack my earphones as I needed for a trip to Jhb. Only then did I discover that the Note 8 includes a clear case in the box

LOL! How long have you had it that you discover this now?

Funnily enough I have moved back to the clear case for a little while, really like how it keeps with the phones design and doesn't take too much away, but it is a bit flimsy for a case.

I had the phone for a week before I realised. I like the clear case. Shows off the Orchard grey nicely and has a slim form factor
