Galaxy S3 now at FNB!

Now this @ R 295 with a Cell C straight up and well now that's a winner on your hands!!! Its cheaper than MTN almost any way you look at it!!!

I think you get a prepaid MTN SIM which has 1GB preloaded on it.
 
matter of weeks till my vodacom contract expires.

Will be getting S3 from FNB and porting to the Cell C Straight up 100 contract. Just need to find out if i can top up with a prepaid voucher should i ever need more calls/data.
 
A bit off topic, i have a gold FNB credit card.
does that mean i can apply?
 
FNB (Gold Acc) R 295.00 - R 7 080.00 (fixed 24 month)
Data (500MB) R 149.00 - R 3 576.00 (p/m)
Calls (StraightUp 100) R 100.00 - R 2 400.00 (p/m)

Per Month R 544.00 R 13 056.00 24 months

100 min, 100 sms, 600mb per month..

For someone who's been looking for a deal in the +-R500 range, this seems quite appealing.. Am I correct in my calculations though? (have wifi at home/work)
 
Just ordered mine. Woohoo!

I have a load of airtime to use, but when that's done I'm going over to CellC month to month straight up.
 
The Thug, what are the spec of the S3 FNB supply, 16 or 32 gig? Also I assuming they delivered the white one?

I wonder if they will have the blue as an option once it becomes available in South Africa.... I like the deal, that why you get a decent price (R 7,080) on the phone which you can pay off over 24 months without any interest and not locked to one network with whatever they deem a good rate at that stage. The closest match I can find for the price is the Vodacom online shops prepaid deal @ R 6,999. Then if you take CellC straight up 100 you are paying a total of R 395 per month which is not bad.

Now I have to wait for my stupid MTN contract to end, September is a very long way in the future at this rate.....
 
R7000 for phone - then say spend R100 on Airtime, Data, SMS.
Thats R9400.

I pay in 24 months R8400 for a HTC ONE X that has R200 airtime, 75Mb Data and 25 SMS's in that cost.
For the Samsung S3 its around R400 i think. Over 24 months thats R9600 - remember this is with double the Airtime plus some SMS's and Data.

I'm with FNB and took out the IPAD2 offer when it came out. That was reasonably priced. Then the price went up due to demand.
I'm not too sure that this S3 deal is good imho.

Ah, I see a comparison with more packages done with the MTN stuff as well.

My work pal here in Senegal got the blue one yesterday. Local price works out to R5,633.

Quite tempted to swap out my Note now.

You seem to be comparing the MTN Anytime200 with the CellC Straight 100 taken with the FNB offer.
If so, your comparison is flawed.

Firstly, just looking at the bundled minutes/sms/data:
the StraightUp 100 comes with 100 anytime minutes while the Anytime 200 comes with R200 = +- 86 anytime minutes
the StraightUp 100 comes with 100 mb x 24, while the Anytime 200 has 75 x 12
the StraightUp 100 offers 100 sms/mms, while the Anytime offers 25 sms
So the StraightUp is much more worth it.

The even bigger benefit is that this is month to month, allowing one to cancel and move elsewhere at anytime.
 
I just got the call from the courier company, will have my S3 in 3-5 days. I can't wait :)

So what's the first thing you did when you got your new baby? Did u root? what apps did you install.
Damn I can't wait.:D

Hmm. How long did you guys wait after placing an order until the courier company called? I know they say within ten days, I'd just like an idea if they only phone after ten days, or does the phone get delivered after 10 days?
