I'm currently on WebAfrica Prepaid, and am very happy with it. I just noticed though that GamCo have Prepaid for less for what looks like the same service.

What is their service like, is there as much self-service as WebAfrica, ie:
  1. SMS Usage Alerts
  2. ADSL Port locking (anti account hack)

WebAfrica is R70/GB

GamCo has various charges:
  • 1 GB Prepaid ADSL: R 62.40
  • 2 GB Prepaid ADSL: R 124.28
  • 3 GB Prepaid ADSL: R 185.64
  • 5 GB Prepaid ADSL: R 308.10
  • 7 GB Prepaid ADSL: R 429.52
  • 10 GB Prepaid ADSL: R 611.00
  • 20 GB Prepaid ADSL: R 1216.80
  • 30 GB Prepaid ADSL: R 1794.00

Yeah but those prices are Ex VAT, so they are actually more expensive than WebAfrica (R71.14 for 1GB). Also, WebAfrica's support, account centre, ease of use, multiple payment methods and general speed of service cannot be matched for prepaid.

HOW STUPID IS IT OF AN isp TO Quote ex vat price come on now

yes i know that lots of businesses use it and ex vat doesnt count because you get it back

but alot of ppl cant claim it back

I notice that you can carry your data over indefinitley with GamCo is that the same with WebAfrica?

Wow...chill out dude.
I happen to know one of the head engineers at GamCo. Most of their clients are large businesses, in which case they claim it back.

Well, if there is nothing to complain about... Then let's complain about charging VAT -- LOL !

People will always find something to bitch about

Yeah VAT, well our company has had a "friendly warning" from SARS about advertising ex vat prices, not allowed according to law, but then that is not something I would complain about. I would rather complain about paying faaaaaaar toooooooo muuuuuuuuuch for freaking internet in SA...
