Hey guys,

I finally replaced my dead laptop and have gotten a new rig.

Problem is I haven't played a decent game in about 2-3 years, and I am
wondering where to start as there are so many to chose from.

I pretty much like all types of games, i.e. shoot the guy and kill him games ,
click on things to build bases and beat up other guy games, and simple walk
around and solve puzzles kinda games.

Rig is not that bad for gaming I hope, is a GTX470 with an i7 950. :)

Please any feedback from your gaming experiences and what you love to play would
be appreciated!

Hang on for COD Black Ops, or get yourself Battlefield: Bad Company 2 alternatively Starcraft 2, those are the major games around at the mo.
Also, MOH is being released in about a week or so...

I am really keen to do some online gaming, would like to see the difference in Starcraft II from the original

"Remember, real men THROW grenades!" - Some random camper on MW2
Classic! Reminds me of counterstrike days. You always get the campers lurking for frags.

Been playing the MOH open beta and it's amazing :) loving it! when you shoot some one they actually die!! Unlike BFBC2 where you can empty a clip on a guy and then he just knifes you.. BS..

First person shooters:

* ( Fast paced action with good multiplayer) Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare \ 2
* ( Sit at home and just shoot stuff to kill time ) Wolfenstein
* ( Run around, upgrading yourself and puzzle solving ) Bioshock 2 .......even better, Fallout 3....also Borderlands ( if you wanna play with a mate too )
* ( Multiplayer co-op ) Left 4 Dead \ 2

Strategy
* (Fast paced strategy with lots of thinking and simultaneous defending\attacking + multiplayer ) Starcraft 2
* ( Relaxing strategy to build up forces and crush your opponents ) Company of Heroes....... Red Alert 3

3rd Person Games
* ( Open world where you have lotsa freedom with comedy ) Grand Theft Auto 4 series
* ( Open world where you destroy lotsa things with relaxed storyline ) The Saboteur
* ( Open world where you kill and destroy with stronger story line ) Prototype
* ( Action with inventory management, upgrades and puzzles ) Resident Evil 5

Anyone else care to add to the list? :)

Mass Effect 2
Dragon Age
Assassin's Creed 2

All 3 together is most likely cheaper than Starcraft 2 ...worth a thought ;)

Awesome :)

Thanks for the feedback guys, I will definitely be getting my hands of some of these games,
most likely will buy SC2 (~R450 ) as I will want to play online :)

Gonna be alot more late nights, lol. Why does time go so quick.. darn blackholes changing our perception of time!

I watched a PC playing crysis, OMW! looks so 'realistic', but good!

For Serious atmosphere go for Dead Space.

I have been super keen on a scary games, thanks for that! :)

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, much appreciated!

I've been ''clean'' without WoW for almost 7 months now :P
Alternatively i play Age of Conan a little these days a quick glance at the games i enjoy lately,
Darksiders - Awesome game, even better with a 360 or alternative controller
Starcraft 2
Singularity
Assassins creed 2 also great with a controller :)

Waiting on a couple, Force Unleashed 2, Black Ops, Fallout New Vegas to name a few.

Sweet! I didnt realise that you can use a 360 controller on the PC, go microsoft! I will definitely be giving that a bash, especially with the
racing games. Just saw GRID looks like an epic play :)

From this I have lots of catching up to do! Hehe

If your going for SC2 we can play a few matches together.it's a bit hard in the beginning but it's alot easier once you have a solid stragety. (soz for grammer, just woke up)
