Hey all,

Sorry if this is meant to be in the hardware section...

I am looking at buying a mouse and at the moment my choices are(no specific order):
1. R.A.T 7
2. Logitech G700
3. Mionix Naos 5000
4. Roccat Kone+

I am not really interested in going wireless so that is not a factor I am truly considering.

What I need help with is the software side of these mice. I want a mice that I can program macros into but by actually programming macros with precise delays not just recording keystrokes. I have not found many resources about the software though so I'm asking anyone who has a mouse in my list to please tell me if the software supports my request.

Thanks in advance and a word or two about the mouse overall would be welcomed too :)

The G700 is wireless... Got a G500 at the moment, awesome mouse.

+1

The G700 is an awesome mouse. IT only just pips the Rat because of the on board memory and the std AA battery it takes. (and it comes with an eneloop rechargeable)

(it also comes with a cable that plugs in and makes it like a normal mouse, so you're going to have the best of both worlds..)

so you're going to have the best of both worlds

But I don't really care about the "wireless" world that much. I just want a mouse with software that allows advanced macro programming...

TBH I haven't searched much about the G700 software but I have on the other mice and all reviews don't speak in depth enough about the software so I am unsure...

Is it safe to assume that any gaming mouse software allows advanced macro programming???

What kind of macros do you want to run? If you are going to play in leagues and such that is considered hacking - just a warning... ;)

Get a Razer Mamba, use it with the cable.

It's nice to have the option of wireless, and the mouse is second to none in build quality.

I just posted a similar topic in the hardware section but also dunno which one to choose:)
I am a fan of the death adder though- but I can't say why. From your list though, the G700.

So G700 looks to be the better option then...

Please give me an idea of what dpi you set your mouse to whilst playing games such as COD because I'm not gonna go for super dpi if I'm gonna stay much lower anyway...

And one more thing:

What kind of macros do you want to run? If you are going to play in leagues and such that is considered hacking - just a warning...

So is any macro disallowed in gaming? Give examples if any are allowed please

And once again, thank you :)

I have the CM Storm Inferno Laser Gaming Mouse. It's a great mouse and can do the kind of macros that you want.

Out of interest is there a reason you are not looking at Razer? Personally i am really enjoying my Lachesis

Funny you should say that because I have just been lookin at Razer mice right now:)
And they are looking quite good...

Is the Lachesis comfortable? For a claw grip? And are the extra buttons easy to use?
