Gaming on wireless keyboards

I have the A4 Tech wireless kb and mouse. The batteries run down very quickly tho so have a spare USB mouse for when playing games. Works like a charm.

Looks like the A4 Tech people seem to be pretty happy with their wireless desktops. I've got the same, no problems with the keyboard, the mouse is a little slow for FPS though. I did notice that the keyboard locks (and beeps) when 3 keys are pressed simultaneously. afaik, this is a general problem with keyboards, easily sorted with a logitech wireless rumblepad.

As for the battery problem, it's not that bad, i usually replace the batteries on the keyboard and mouse about once every 3 months.

I have the same problem, do you know how to fix it?

And no, the new IntelliKey proggie didnt fix it :(

I have bought a A-Open Wireless Desktop (Mouse and Keyboard) for R250. This was a rather cheap price for a wireless keyboard and optical mouse, but it works (and looks in my opinion) better than the Microsoft Wireless solutions.

Gaming is absolutely wonderful on it (Need For Speed)... and once again, it costs R250 for both Mouse and Keyboard.

A friend of mine has the Microsoft and if you bring a cellphone close to the receiver or keyboard/mouse there is no response or the cursor etc does stuff by iteself. Bring a cellphone to the A-Open receiver and/or mouse/keyboard it still works 100%.

If you only want to pay R250 and get fantastic Wireless equipment, get the A-Open... rechargable batteries inc :)

I guess ill trade this set for a Logitech Cordless Desktop LX 700 :(

A few weeks ago i got myself a microsoft wireless optical desktop, it works great except for games...

It seems that you cant hold a key in for more than 5 seconds or so. It is really crap for most games (eg. racing) because you have to constantly keep tapping the keys to move!

Does anyone else have a problem like this with a wireless desktop

Exactly the same problem!

I've tried every solution i could find mentioned anywhere. The only fix is to use a wired keyboard for those games.

Has any contact been made with Microsoft support?

Logitech Wireless Mouse + Keyboard and used for Gaming...Runs sweet :)

Never had delay problems or holding down a key for too long (like Fps) Problems.

Ive got an ms keyboard non wireless and i have the same issues cant hold a button for longer than 5 secs. And also i got to fix it by installing the ms drivers for the keyboard but then my mouse is really jerky logitech mouse so i uninstalled the drivers and the mouse worked again got myself a razer mouse now havent tried installing keyboard drivers again tho.

Wirerd Vs Non-wired

I also bought myself a wireless kb+mouse (logitech) and found that gaming was fine with it. The only downer is that its optical beam is very sensitive, surfaces influence gameplay a lot. Bought myself a gaming mouse pad, now mouse works awsome.

Still prefere wired devices;) Get logitech G5 laser

I also have Microsoft Wireless Desktop 3 and is doing the same thing to me too (when I play NFS the car stops after some seconds and I have to press the forward button again....) Also the mouse sometimes loses connection from the base and stops responding.

The worst buy I ever did! I'm gonna bring it back to the store I bought it from and trade it with a Logitech MX3100 or MX3000... M$ sux all the way at Hardware too!!!!

I got Logitech MX wireless desktop and no complaints here, keyboard battery lasted me 1 and a half years:D

the thing i have noticed with wireless keyboards is that the button can get "stuck" (no not just 1 key any key can get stuck i've tried it) and u have to tap that key again to get it to unstick..... becomes a problem playing fast games... but never had aproblem with my wireless optical A4 Tech mouse

I've got MS Wireless keyboard, wireless mouse, joystick....everything Microsoft!

No such problems here. Everything works just fine! :)
